Day +7

Another day bites the dust!!!! I still feel pretty crappy today as my throat continues to hurt me and I still can't swallow or drink anything. I pretty much just slept all day today waking up occasionally to talk with Mindy or just sit up for a little. I tried chewing a piece of gum today, that didn't go so well as my mouth just broke it up and I couldn't really taste it. I read some cards we received today which was a nice break from my daily routine to just read some notes people leave you. I will keep on the fight and just can't wait until my counts start to recover. I got my neupegin shot tonight which should help start my counts to come back. Can't wait for the day when I will strut out of here, it will be a most amazing day. Please keep me in you prayers, I see them work everyday.

Derrick

O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.

Derrick: You are a real trooper.
Mindy: You are a saint

Derrick we are also looking forward to you strutting out of there.
I want to see you hit a golf ball, hopefully this one won't explode.
Tell me that exploding ball won't be in the back of your mind the first tee shot you hit.

Fight in the present, look to the future.

You and Mindy are in our thoughts and prayers daily.

Hi Derrick,

You're a fighter! There's no doubt about that one.

I've been reading your recent posts and have been thinking about you and Mindy a lot. Please know that I and so many others are thinking about you.

Like your blog states, "Fight On!"

Waiting to hear about the good news when your counts begin to rise and some of the side effects begin to lessen.

Stay strong, friend! :)

Hi Derrick,

This is Paul Wenger, a friend of your Dad's at ENB. I met your Mom and Marcy at Ephrata Pizza today and I told them Darla and I think about you every day. So then I thought...why not tell you that too!

It was great to read today's blog (day 9) to find out you had an encouraging day! It's just the beginning of a lot more great days I beleive. I loved your verse today from the book of "1 Derrick".

Keep trusting and we'll keep praying.
