Just thought I would drop everyone an update so far on the day. During his rounds today, the doctor told us that Derrick's transplant would be between 5- 6:30 tonight. Since he is having what is called a t-cell depleted transplant it takes awhile to make sure the cells are properly ready. Derrick has slept most of the day again today, due to the hiccups. Everytime he wakes up he gets relentless bouts of hiccups which are painful. So they give medecine to relax him and put him to sleep, so he is very well rested! Derrick or I will post later tonight to let you know how everything went. Please keep him in your prayers that he will remain infection free and the cells will graft!
Mindy
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and trun away from evil. It will bring healing to your body and marrow to your bones!

Thanks for the update, thinking about you on this critical day!!!
My thoughts and prayers are with Derrick and your entire family today. Mindy, I thought this was interesting. You posted "Footprints" in your last post. Early this morning, I copied it and pasted it to an email I sent my husband. Which is not something I would normally send him, but felt compelled to do. This afternoon, I got a birthday card in the mail from my aunt. It had a keychain in it with 4 footprints on it and a "Footprints" story card with it. The timing of it all just made me know that God is definitely walking through each day with us all and always reminding us in suttle ways that he is there. God bless you and Derrick and the family today. May God hold you all in his loving arms and may everything turn out exactly the way they need to. I will continue to pray for this throughout the evening and in the coming days as well. Leisa
Been thinking of you guys....and hopefully all is happening as I type this....looking forward to the next update!!
love you guys....Lainey & Aarin
I just found your blog (through Journal of a Prizefighter), I too have AML (in remission since late 2005)
I never realized this scripture, until reading it here. I actually looked it up, because I thought you might have change some of the text. I'm sure from here on out I will use that as a foundation, for my continued healing and health.
I wish you both well, and I hope things continue to improve. I'll be praying for you.
