Today was much better than yesterday. I did not feel as nauseous, but my appetite was still down. I was able to ride the stationary bike in my room to try to stay active since I can't leave my room. I am half way through my radiation, so I have only two more days left. Once I am down with radiation I won't leave my room at all. The trips down to the radiation room have gotten me out of the room. I rested again today which is a good thing, since the doctors said the total body irradiation would make me tired. Other than that Mindy and I read a crime scene who dunit book she got me from the bookstore and played Peggle which is a computer game that we are addicted to. At night we watched I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry. We have already seen it but it is always good for a laugh. My skin is starting to get a little red/ tan from the radiation. Ok well it's time to go to bed, keep praying and I'll keep fighting on!
God, open my eyes to see your goodness and mercy in the midst of this life. thank you for giving me a taste of the good things yet to come. Amen

Keep Fighting Derrick. You are always in my thoughts and prayers. I hope your body continues to be infection free so you can continue on with the transplant process. We are so young and we all have many more memories to make and many lessons to still learn!! Stay strong and Keep the Faith! Everybody is pulling for you

I know this is a very difficult time for your family, just remember when we walk in difficult places God sends the strength to face what comes our way, not all at once, but day by day. We pray for you everyday and it is working. God has given you and Mindy amazing courage and strength.
