Derrick has been trying to come home since Sat., but tomorrow it seems like it's actually going to happen. Each time he thought he was going to be discharged the doctors would come up with another test they wanted to run before releasing him. I think they finally ran out of tests to do on him and therefore they're going to have to let him go. We believe it was a conspiracy between the doctors and the nurses because several of the nurses told Derrick he was their favorite patient. Not quite sure what he did or didn't do to deserve that honor, but it's nice to be the "favorite" regardless of the reason.
Today is Jim's 50th birthday!! Mindy and I picked up a Dairy Queen ice cream cake for him and we all enjoyed it while visiting with Derrick this evening. Jim actually had some visitors who brought him some "special" gifts and helped him celebrate reaching this milestone.
Thank you to all who have expressed a desire to be tested as a possible bone marrow donor. I will be contacting the transplant coordinator tomorrow at Hershey Medical Center and will give you specific instructions in our next post as to the procedure.

GREAT NEWS Dully! I can't even imagine how much you want to get home and be able to relax and recuperate in your own new bed. You've fought through this so far like a champ and I know you'll continue on that way. Keep it up bro, you know how many people you have right now supporting you and I'm sure thats a huge help. Just keep good old T.Petty in mind... "No, I wont back down!" Can't wait to see you again. Let me know if you need anything while your home.
A big happy bday goes out to you too Jim.

Hi Dully and Family:
Just wanted to check in and send a little positive energy your way. You're never far from my mind and, as everyone else has said, it's great to have a running blog to provide updates on your fight. From what I read, you should be reading this message from the comforts of your own bed by now! You've been such an incredible fighter, and since we're only as good as the hurdles we've overcome, your incredible strength is sure to continue to propel you through whatever life throws at you. It's amazing to see the way you've inspired so many people. Keep pulling through, and if you ever need to laugh, just picture our sisters. They're pretty funny-looking.
Loving the shaved head, by the way. Keep an eye out for a care package!
OH wow, this is really long. I'm rambling. Shocking.
Love, Lindsay
p.s. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MR. DULL!!!
Hey buddy. Heres hoping you get home today. It will be great to sleep in your own bed. Just want
to keep encouraging you. You are the man. Keep fighting this like the Lycoming Warrior that you are. A shout out to Mindy for being a Warrior by your side through all this. You are awesome. Hang tough.
I know you will.
I hope as I am typing this message that you are home snuggled with your favorite nurse!!! I agree with Pam. If you were my patient, I would have a hard time letting you go home. Your bright and inspirational smile is a blessing that you share with us all!!! Hugs and kisses to you and your family, especially to the Mr. Happy B-day Jim!! Love to you all....the Harmes' Family
Woo Hoo! Awesome news, Derrick!! I have a little something for you but I wanted to deliver it myself, but I just might have to send it to. It is just something you taught me a long time ago and to this day I still do it and it makes me think of you everytime. Thinking about you guys all the time. Keep your head up!!
Happy Birthday Poppa Dully!!
