Update from Derrick Tuesday night, while watching some basketball with Mom, Dad, and Mindy:
I met with alot of doctors again today who poked, prodded and ask me lots of questions. Beating this infection & fever is taking longer than I expected, but everyday we are making progress. My blood counts have started recovering from the chemo and that will help the antibiotics do their thing. Hoping tomorrow brings more improvement. Gotta go, Mindy is feeding me some jello.
Peace Out, Love you all, Derrick.

Aren't you being spoiled to have Mindy feed you?! Although it's probably helping a lot and helping a lot in your quick and speedy recovering. Keep up the fight and get better soon! I'm gonna guess that you'll drive the corvette before I will *considering I need to grow like four inches before I'm comfortable driving it*
Derrick,
Now you will know what your Dad and I have been saying all these years. Bald is beautiful. Don't worry, unlike some of us yours will grow back. Keep Fightin.

Hello Hello!
I know Papa Stur, and my uncles, would agree that 'Bald is beautiful.' It is amazing to hear how well you are doing - in fighting, in recovering, and in keeping your spirits up. Keep truckin. (And I'll keep stalking this blog frequently for updates.)
Oh, and look out for a box o' fun from Atlanta. :)
with love and prayers - stay strong
sturla.
Derrick, I have worked and played golf with your father over many years and just learned of your illness as I have relocated to Pittsburgh. We even had a chance to play together. I pray for you an your family and trust God with his healing hand. NO ONE knew suffering more than him and we become closer to him as we struggle. You are a strong young man with many gifts and I look forward to learning how you progress and how your trial in life will strengthen you.
God Bless You!!!
Michael Peuler
