National Marrow Donor Program

I contacted the bone marrow coordinator at Hershey Medical Center and was told that the only person they will be testing to be a match for Derrick is Marcy due to the fact that after a sibling the percentages of a match drop dramatically.  If Marcy is not a match, the doctors will go to the National Marrow Donor Registry.  The only way someone can be considered as a donor would be to join the National Marrow Donor Program.  The website is listed below and I would recommend that anyone who is interested in becoming a donor read the information very carefully and determine if it is the right option for you.  It appears that the easiest way to get started is to apply on-line.  Again, thanks to all who have volunteered to be tested.  Here is the site address:

Great news that you are back in Ephrata again! What a wonderful way to end the month of February. March sounds like Spring to me and with Spring comes new life, sunshine, hope and encouragement for all of us after a long, cold winter. But this is especially true for you and your family! Enjoy being together in your own home again!
Thanks for bringing attention to the National Marrow Donor program. There's many people out there who could benefit from our participation in this program.
