Well I slept in until about 10 this morning when I finally was forced to roll out of bed to have some breakfast and get ready to go to Hershey. I went and had some blood cultures taken and did not need any blood or platelets today whoo hoo. I am feeling very well again today. I attribute this to all the support I am receiving from everyone and can not express my gratitude through words.
I have a "central line" just below my collar bone which runs into a vein that goes into my heart. This line is used to draw blood and hook up IV's without having to stick me every time, it's actually very very convenient to have the only thing is it makes it difficult to shower because I can't get it wet. But I just got a shower with a little help from the Boachman and by the beard of Zeus does it feel good to be clean!!!!
Tonight I think I'll watch the Grammy's and just relax. Can't wait until I can see some people. Thanks again for all of your support.

On another note, we have friends in Oregon who had a baby girl who was born about 8 weeks premature. They have been dealing with complications since she was born, but miraculously she is managing to take tiny steps in the right direction. Please add this dear little one and her family to any prayers or prayer lists at your church. Her name is Abigail Rose Jacoby. We are confident, that like Derrick, she will fight the battle and win!

Hi Derrick, though I haven't met you I know your parents and Marcy through my son Keith Highfield and I have to say what an inspiration you are to me. I am told my many people and see by this web site what great spirit you have. The mind is very powerful and you have half the battle already won by your positive attitude, the rest will be won with God's helping hand. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Welcome home.

Hey Derrick,
I know I haven't talked to you in quite a while but I wanted to let you know that since I heard about this you've been in my thoughts and prayers. I know your family will be a very strong support system for you and though I don't know Mindy, she seems like a great person to have by your side as well. I'm glad to see that things are going well for you and its amazing how positive you are staying throughout all of this. I wish you the best and I'm glad that you get to spend some time at home and away from the hospital.
Take care,
Becky Harker
Hey D! Matt and I can not wait for you to come home to Lewy! Matt is anticipating a lot of Tiger Woods rematches. He ordered new golf clubs so he will be ready to hit the green with you in the summer! He is searching far and wide for the Caddyshack goupher headcover for his driver! Keep up your positive spirit! You are in our thoughts and prayers everyday! Love- Casie and Matt
Dully,
It's good to see that you're doing well. Keep fighting and I know you can get through this, you're strong. I found this site through my sister on myspace and I've been keeping up with the blogs. It's amazing to see how many people have responded from our small town of Ephrata. It just shows how much of an impact you have here. I think I speak for everyone on here but we're all here fighting with you. My mom has donated blood in your name and my whole family is praying for you. Stay strong bro, we're all here for you.

D J D U L L Y!!!!! It felt so good to hear your voice throughout this week as you keep fighting this disease. As I can tell by the tone of your voice and the posts on these blogs, you just are being same old Dully; being the most positive and mentally strong I have ever met in my life. From the days of you jumpin’ up hangin’ on the rim in basketball practice being on the "D-SQUAD", sitting together on the away basketball game bus getting over my fear of needles from the daily "stabs", Who can drink the most water then really have to pee when the game goes into OT, tying the best tie, chillin at 605 (playin’ darts, listening to a little "HOVA", jamming out to guitar hero, Steam room, Team Get Some, playin’ an afternoon of free golf (then hittin’ up the white deer bar). These will be the memories that make me feel close to you and I know you are the toughest kid in the world. There is no doubt, your friends and I know you can beat all of this just because simply, you are Derrick Dull! Your character goes a long way. As I tell you almost every day, stay positive and keep fighting! Rozalyn and I have you in our prayers and not a day goes by without us talking about how you’re doing; just keep doing your thing! I know your family and Mindy is there for your support, however, I know you have also a group of close friends for you here, feel free to reach out whenever you need anything, that is why we are here! I can't wait to see you soon bro!
Love, Scott and Rozalyn
Hi Derrick,
We were alarmed to hear of your illness right before we left for vacation. Upon getting back and reading the blogs, it seems that you are responding well to the treatment, have a great support network and have a great attitude. Keep the great 'tude, dude!
We hope to be able to talk to you soon via phone or in person in a few days when you come back to Ephrata.
I (Gary) always thought of you as a basketball player or a football player but you are turning into a hurdler. You just keep on "hurdling" over the obstacles that life throws at you. You are inspiring us all! We know that with God all things are possible and we pray for you,Marcy, mom and dad to continue to look to God for strength. Continue to have faith in Him to see you thru this.
We love you Derrick and God loves you too! The Snavelys, Gary,Jo and Rachel.
