Friday was a busy and exhausting day for Derrick. In the morning, he had his "bronchioscopy" and in the afternoon they inserted a "picc line". Both went well but left Derrick very groggy and tired. The "picc line" was inserted so that he didn't have to get stuck every time they needed to take blood samples, which is once and sometimes twice a day. The central line Derrick originally had was removed last weekend because the doctors determined his staph infection was generating from the line. Hopefully today Derrick will have more energy and he is going to need it. Thursday night (well actually Friday morning at 2am) we had a visitor show up on our doorstep and it was none other than Derrick's "favorite sister". ha ha Anyways, Marcy is home for the weekend and is looking to spend some quality with her bro. She'll be going back to OU tomorrow so we're going to squeeze as much time together as a family until then.
Not sure yet when D might be discharged. He has another test scheduled for Monday so we're hoping it might be on Tuesday.
